Best Discovery of Mine

When I'd asked to say a city name in Spain, my answer would always have been a common city name like Barcelona, Madrid that I knew for a long while. But, fortunately; I've caught sight that there have been more cities that are worth to remember in Spain like Granada which is one of the greatest cities in Spain with its historic structure, ancient ruins and mixture of cultures.

In a warm autumn morning, we started to take the road for the city that was waiting for us. When we reached to the city the very first thing that I recognized from my little window that it was a small city as can be understood by the small roads of it. When we got off the bus we chose to walk to our hotel as the local people generally do.Thus, we had the chance to make a short city tour. The city had a square called Plaza Nueva crowned with a splendid building. While passing by it, I thought this square had witnessed many meetings and events for a long time. After reaching hotel and resting some, I went outside to walk around the city and take some pictures. Having discovering a city by being lost with a map on hand, going to one street from another street, watching people in their daily routine and animals snoozing on the streets hadn't gave me a pleasure like that before. The narrow streets extending upwardly could provide the view of  'The Alhambra' which was the icon of the city. Afterwards, with a tour guide, we kept on visiting by learning about the city. We visited parliament building which was in city center and the neighborhood where the local people were living. The neighborhood called Albaicin had hosted many people with its narrow streets and beautiful view for years. Having walked everywhere in this small city we felt tired and it was enough for that day. The next day, we climbed a long way to reach The Alhambra which was totally worth to visit. The palace had enormous gate with Arabic writings on it.No sooner had I passed the door, than I was fascinated with the beauty of architecture. It had been a house many years for the Arabic kings who were called 'Sultan'. Though, after having been conquered by Christians, the structure of building was not deteriorated as well as its glorious gardens. After a 3 hours wandering in borders of the palace, I was not completely satisfied, still. But it was time to leave and go Flamenco show. Even though, Flamenco was a Spanish folk culture music and dance, it was generally popular in Andalusian part of Spain. The dancers were wearing special cloths such as frilly skirts, tight blouses and small-heeled shoes which were helping them sounding by hitting the ground. After this affective show, it was time for us to say good-bye this lovely city.
Granada is one of the pearls of Spain which is generally visited by tourists from all over the world. I also, have had the pleasure and
visited this city, feel very fortunate to do it  Granada will stay in my mind one of the best cities I have ever visited.
